Varieties

HGCA Recommended Lists are managed by dedicated members of the HGCA Research and Knowledge Transfer team. Varieties are added to the Lists when they are considered to have the potential to provide a consistent economic benefit to the whole industry.

Running the Recommended Lists

Each year HGCA invests around 13% of its total levy income to assessing varieties for the HGCA Recommended Lists.

HGCA Recommended Lists are run through a collaborative project in partnership with BSPB, nabim and MAGB

Oilseed Rape Survey

The husbandry and management of HGCA Recommended List variety trials are aligned as closely as possible to "best local practice". We are currently undertaking a review of the protocols to ensure they are relevant and in line with current commercial farm practice.

Oilseed Rape

To help inform this process, we would be grateful if you would take a few minutes to complete this short questionnaire. Responses will be held in confidence, it will not be possible to identify businesses or individuals from any published results.

Completed questionnaires will be entered into a prize draw to win a hamper of local produce.
